Unusual weather occasionally targets America. From coast to coast storm fronts thunder through the bread basket, the Deep South, and New England. The seasonal financial toll of material damage just in the east frequently hits at least a billion dollars a year. In Illinois and the Dakotas, rivers surge to record levels, as millions prepare to see the Missouri River overflow its banks yet again. From Missouri to Minnesota, from one region of the country to another, wave after wave of ruthless storms crash across the nation with no clear end in the future. From the worst tornados to entire regions left in ruins, the first question people seem to have is when is the endless rain going to give way to spring and summer. That answer, Im afraid, is as scarce as a day without measurable rainfall. Perhaps, the torrential spring storms will finally break, giving us a glimpse of a bright, endless summer of sweet sunny days:
